mayan disappearanceResearchers are working on new theories on the Mayans’ disappearance, suggesting that the Blue Hole of Belize could hold the key in revealing the mystery behind the demise of the 3, 000-year-old Mayan civilization.
The Mayan civilization began around 2000 BC and continued until the year 800 to 900 A.D. Many believe the Mayans were one of the most advanced civilizations on Earth, boasting of sophisticate architecture like pyramids, agriculture, mathematics, astronomy and hieroglyphic writing.
